Diwali Lakshmi Pooja is on Sunday, 8 November 2026. The pooja is done in the evening during Pradosh Kaal. For Delhi, one panchang source lists the window as 5:48 PM to 7:14 PM, and the timing is different in each city, so check your local panchang. Whatever your time, it is easier if everything is ready a few days earlier. Here is a simple checklist.
Essentials for the pooja
- Kumkum (roli) and haldi for tilak and for offering
- Mouli (red thread) roll
- Cotton wicks or diya batti, and ghee or oil for the diyas
- Camphor for aarti
- Agarbatti or incense sticks
- Gomti Chakra, which many families place in the Lakshmi Pooja
- Rice (akshat), betel leaves and supari
- Flowers, a coconut and a kalash with mango leaves
- Fruits and sweets for the offering
- A clean red or yellow cloth for the pooja platform

- A brass and copper cleaner, so thali, diyas and lamps are polished before pooja
